Natalia Leginowicz is an artist and educator whose visual work encompasses photography, prints on paper, artists’ books, text and installation. Her creative process engages an appreciation of paper and print, the power of the hand crafted object, and the magic of images.
Natalia’s work explores the relationship between perception and reality — the layered and interwoven dimensions, from the rational to the spiritual, that shape our lives and reality of being. She considers how our conceptual processes and cultural frameworks inform our worldviews and how we give meaning to our experiences in their context. Engaging a visual vocabulary of signs and symbols, Natalia traces the connections between seen and unseen worlds. Natalia’s work is also informed by her practice as an energy healer and the belief that creativity is the wellspring of consciousness, our cosmic inheritance.
Natalia received an MFA from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University in 2019, and BFA from The School of Art + Design at Purchase College, State University of New York. Additionally, she studied at The University of Fine Arts (HFBK) in Hamburg, Germany and the International Center of Photography in NYC. She worked at cultural organizations and educational programs including The Museum of Modern Art, the Neuberger Museum of Art, the art department at Wellesley College, and SMFA at Tufts University. She designed and taught art classes and workshops to different age groups, and has served as a visiting artist/critic in several art programs. Natalia is a Usui Reiki Master and a practitioner of Source Point Therapy, and has trained in several energy healing modalities. Born in Poland, Natalia relocated to the US with her family as a child and now calls the Catskill Mountains of New York, home.
